The Challenge of Post-Truth to Cartesian Rationalism

Abstract

This article examines how contemporary post-truth dynamics undermine the central assumptions of Cartesian rationalism: the transparency of reason, the evidential criterion of truth, and the autonomy of the knowing subject. It argues that post-truth is not mere irrationality but a structural shift in the epistemic regime toward affective, narrative, and algorithmic logics that exceed the Cartesian cogito.
